Match Reports Ladies' 2nd Team 2008–09 29/11/2008 Harlow Ladies 2s opened their season with a storming 6 - 0 victory over a young Upminster side. Player of the match Steff Hawes hit a ferocious hattrick and was only denied further goals by an excellent Upminster keeper who in the first half kept their team in the game. She wasn't able to prevent goals from Ellice Castle and Holly Reilly showed off her reverse stick skills sliding the fourth under the keeper just before half time to take a 4-0 lead. The early afternoon heat took it's toll on both sides in the second half but Harlow entertained spectators with their silky passing, all the more impressive in their first outing of the season. Nicky Newland in the Harlow goal was never troubled as debutants Sue Douglas and Emily Makinson gave solid accounts in defence. Harlow 2s will look to continue their form into an early morning away encounter at Brentwood this Saturday.
